Fabiola Delva: Today I'm not feeling well, and you can probably hear it, but I'm here. Because what I have to say couldn't wait another day. And that is exactly what this podcast is all about. There's a question I've been sitting with lately, and I wish I could say I received it in some profound life-changing moment. But no. If you listened to episode 1, thank you for coming back. And if this is your first time, I'm glad you're here. I'm Fabiola and this is Waiting isn't It Working. I want to start today by asking you something simple. Not a motivational question, but rather an honest one. What are you building? ⁓ Not what you plan to build, not what you've working on in your head. But what are you actually building? Because here's I've come to understand. Whether we admit it or not, we are always building something, even when we're not doing anything. And I know that personally, because I've lived it. I shared with you that in 2020 I wanted to start a podcast, not this one, just something. I even had moments where I felt ready. And then, just like that, I turn around and tell myself, why would anybody listen to me? And here's thing, ⁓ didn't feel like ⁓ It felt responsible. ⁓ Like I was being thoughtful, careful, strategic. ⁓ Like ⁓ maybe need more ⁓ to say. Maybe I should get a better microphone. Because clearly, microphone was the issue, wasn't it? always something respectable. ⁓ how fear works. ⁓ doesn't show up looking like fear. ⁓ shows up looking like good decision making. ⁓ And believed it. ⁓ So I didn't start. You know the story. No announcement, quitting, ⁓ failure. At least that's what I told myself. ⁓ just didn't move. ⁓ time did what time always does. ⁓ kept ⁓ Days passed, then months, ⁓ if you had asked me, ⁓ would have probably said I'm thinking. ⁓ thinking about it. ⁓ But I want to be honest with you, I wasn't thinking. I was building something, just not what I thought. I was building hesitation. I was building doubt. I was building a habit of not starting. And I had gotten really good at it. I just didn't call it that. I called it... waiting. And here's what I need you to hear. Waiting feels passive, but it's not neutral. It has direction. It reinforces something. Because there's no pause button. You're always shaping something with your time, your choices, your silence, your action, or your inaction. and if you're not deciding gets built, ⁓ something else quietly steps Your comfort. your distraction, your I'll do it later. And it doesn't take over dramatically. It's not loud. It's consistent. And one thing for sure is that consistency builds. That's how you wake up one day and realize it's been years. And the thing you were about to start is still sitting exactly where you left it. not because you couldn't do it, but because you never step into the decision. And I'm not saying this from a place of having it all figured out. I'm saying it because I know what it costs when you don't choose. Life doesn't stop. It doesn't wait for you to feel ready. It just keeps building. With or without your input. So when I ask the question, are you building? ⁓ not asking to create some kind of pressure. ⁓ asking because I you to see ⁓ I couldn't see for a long time. ⁓ your days are not just passing, ⁓ are constructing something. And once you see that, ⁓ start to move differently. ⁓ overnight. ⁓ but intentionally. One honest moment at a time where you stop asking what if start asking what happens if I actually this. ⁓ Because the question was never what you could build. It was always what you are already building right now. Whether you meant to or not. I want you to know, I'm not asking you to do anything I haven't had to ask myself. ⁓ This question cost me something and it was worth it. If this resonates with you, share it with someone who might need it. And I'll see you in the next one. Because procrastination is not the boss. You are.
